MEANINGFUL?

I can help you celebrate the people in your life
THROUGH YOUR EYES
and
MY INTERPRETATION

Broderick-Wong-Portraits-The-Cousin.jpg

The Cousin

This is of my cousin Seb Chua, a sculptor, and one of his most famous pieces entitled Mother and Child. In his own words: I tend to gravitate towards themes and subjects that depict emotive and positive feelings, such as love, care and abundance. I prefer creating works that show the family, a pair of lovers, a mother and her child, people with pets, and the like. I strive to poise the presence of emotions in every single piece I create, honing the visual impact to rely on this imbued element.

The Daughter

This was a portrait commissioned by Emily, a friend of Kristele's mother. She conspired to do this in secrecy, with only 2 reference pictures. She loved her Hello Kitty tutu so this had to be in the portrait.

The Sister

"What can I give to someone who already has everything?" ~ Emily  She took the very words out of my mouth. This is a birthday gift my client gave to her sister living in Toronto. The picture was cropped up to the necklace so I added in a simple top for the overall portrait to fade away nicely.

The Family

"I was thinking of a family portrait. The 3 of us." ~ Hubert  In this piece, I suggested a tight knit family by tilting their heads and eye direction slightly: The mom looking up to her boy, the son looking at his dad and the man looking at his woman.

The Boss

This was a portrait done for "The Boss" of a company called Organo Gold selling a range of healthy bioactive coffee products containing Ganoderma lucidum from the lingzhi mushroom. My clients thought it would be cool to include his grandson whom he was very fond of.

The Newly Weds

Myriam wanted a portrait done of her friends who had just gotten married. It was a post-wedding gift, one that filled them with anticipation about a gift that is being created.

The Grandchildren

This was a birthday gift to her daughter, a Character Portrait of her grandchildren. My client decided to go with the actual proportions since her daughter might not like to see her kids "distorted". I reassured her that my style does not distort faces and that I can dial down the exaggeration just enough to highlight their unique features and still make it work. She treated this commission with utmost secrecy that she refused to check her mail for my updates thinking that her daughter could walk up from behind her and catch a glimpse of this project.

"Kat laughed like crazy, but she loved it! Especially Kara’s face – and Kyle recognized himself immediately. LOL. Thank you again!" ~ Arwen
